Donald Trump opened up about his weight loss journey and what he eats in a day a few months ago. Recently, an author Gareth Davies, followed his fast food diet for seven days to see the physical and psychological effects of it. The US President's diet is full of fast food, snacks, and an alarming amount of diet cokes are among the former president's eating habits. Davies wrote of his attempts to follow the rigorous routine. Davies wrote of Trump, “I don’t understand how the man is still alive.”

Here’s What Happens To Your Body When You Eat Like Donald Trump For A WeekSkipping Breakfast
Davies, who tried following Trump's eating habits, often skipped breakfast. When Trump does have breakfast, it typically includes fried eggs and bacon. In contrast, Davies started his mornings with a can of Diet Coke and occasionally some Doritos. This left him feeling nauseous, and the problem worsened when he had coffee on an empty stomach. Like Trump, Davies also took supplements like zinc, vitamin D, and melatonin, which he found hard on his stomach without food.
Skipping Lunch
Trump rarely eats lunch, opting instead for occasional snacks like a meatloaf sandwich. Davies followed suit, skipping lunch entirely and relying on more Diet Coke and occasional snacks.
Fast-Food Dinners
Dinner is the main meal in Trump’s routine, often including fast food. Trump’s typical order includes two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches, two Big Macs, and a chocolate milkshake. Davies mirrored this with large portions of McDonald's, pizza, and KFC. While the meals were initially satisfying, Davies found the milkshake too thick and the routine monotonous.
Snacks and Drinks
Trump reportedly drinks up to 12 cans of Diet Coke daily, with minimal water intake. Davies managed nine cans a day but found the experience overwhelming. Doritos, Trump’s preferred snack, were also part of the diet, though Davies noted they were unsatisfying as meal replacements.
Health Concerns
Nutritionists criticize Trump’s diet for its reliance on processed foods, lack of fibre, and absence of plant-based nutrients, which can harm gut health and increase long-term health risks. The high intake of aspartame, a key ingredient in Diet Coke, has been flagged as a potential carcinogen by the WHO. The lack of water also raises concerns about proper hydration.
Davies’ Takeaway: Mentally And Physically Draining
After a week, Davies described the diet as mentally and physically draining. The heavy reliance on processed foods and the lack of variety left him dealing with hunger, fatigue, and digestive issues, highlighting the challenges of maintaining such a routine.
